DICE ROLLING GUIDE
A "how to" on how to roll dice and what the numbers mean.
With Fractured Image we have a special way of determining who wins a battle. We do dice rolls! It helps to keep the suspense but also let you have your character grow alongside your role playing. Let's look a bit deeper.
When do I use a dice roll?
That's simple, at anytime when you do an official challenge or tournament we require you do dice rolls.
Is there a time when I won't need to do a dice roll?
This goes for any other situation or stand off between you and another player's character. If you both have pre-determined who will win character wise then there is no need to worry about dice rolling.
Will I still get experience if I don't make rolls in a battle?
To prevent cheating and allowance of players to KO one another for points, we're going to say no. Make an official challenge thread or try in a tournament to do so. For more on experience and how to get your character stronger, click here.
Now that we have the question of when out of the way, we need to find the dice roll button or know the shortcut. If you look all the way at the top of a new reply, next to the smilie button, you'll see two dice buttons. If you click the first one it puts the code:
You want the one next to that, the one with the eyeball down at the bottom. Why? Because when you get into a battle, you will want to make a post based on how good (or bad) your roll is. This one is called a "Preview Roll", try clicking on that, it should post a code like this:
With a preroll you can see what your number for your roll will be. But now we have the next tricky question...
How do we know what the roll means? Well, it's simple!
We roll 4 six sided dice for any and all battle rolls unless we have a special attack that uses EP (Elemental Power/Spirituality) that states otherwise.
This gives us a range from 4 being the minimum and 24 being the maximum.
This table below shall show you what ranges mean what:
These dice rolls are 100% hack proof. There is no "easy" way to get around cheating your rolls, so don't bother trying. We will catch you and you will have your accounts deleted.
The only thing that affects how well your rolls are is the stats DEX(Dexterity) and SWF(Swiftness) for more info on stats, click here.
